Grinding

Slowly but surely we’re getting it done on the “skin”. Another full day of grinding it out produced a respectable total from the famed Rocas Alijos. In beautiful conditions - glorious flat calm, the sights, sounds, and action were absorbed and appreciated by everyone as a blessing received. We always get it done out here regardless of conditions. But doing so in such pure ease of comfort is a bonus that can not be understated.

Suffice it to say after three days of working over the wahoo down below and giving it our all on the school size tuna we are ready for a new pursuit. The attraction of quality tuna narrows our focus to the grounds above. A day in transit tomorrow will position us for the final rounds in “The Crucible” where we hope to find the 40 - 150# yellowfin tuna abundant, ready, and willing. A make or break affair we’ll see if the trend switches in our favor on the back end of this voyage. Either way we’re 100% confident in the strategy. It’s up to the fish gods now. But, isn’t it always?

Photo of the day features Royal Star angler Wayne Passafiume with a nice “skin” coming over the rail.
