The striper action at the Golden Gate is still going pretty strong, albeit, the full moon has hampered the catching a little in conjunction with the cooling water trends. High boat for the week was the "Gaviota II", skippered by Captain Freddy Talamantes, with 14 stripers for 7 days fished, along with 13 dorado. Overall combined fish counts for a total of 59 fishing days reflected 81 stripers, (76 releases) 1 wahoo, 118 dorado, 1 bonito, 8 yellowfin tuna and 118 dorado, 31 Sierra and 2 roosterfish. The interesting part of the catch report this week is the is the various areas for the different fishing. Golden Gate for the marlin, into the beach and southerly for the sierra, most of the dorado from El Arco to Chileno, a wahoo from Gorda Banks and 2 roosterfish from the Gorda Point area. At least the anglers had some choices that didn't have to focus on the billfish only action of the past few months.

Cabo Climate: Partly cloudy days, cooler nights, temps from 61 nights to 80 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Starting to see some cooling trend with the waters on both, the Pacific side and the Sea of Cortez side. Current sea temps are 72 at the Golden Gate & slowly rising to 73-74 at the Gorda Banks. Above the Gorda Banks, the temps fall rapidly to 67 degrees as it does just above the Finger Bank on the Pacific side.

Best Fishing Area: Continues to be on the Golden Gate Bank for billfish and inshore from there is an excellent sierra bite.

Best bait/lure: Live bait at the Golden Gate for billfish is still the leader of the catches.

Live Bait Supply: Remains very good even with the full moon conditions and can still be replenished at the Golden Gate Bank and occasionally at the Cabo Falso drop-off.
