The billfish catches rebounded this week at the Golden Gate Bank, but marlin stragglers were caught in a number of areas from the Golden Gate to the 95 Fathom Spot, too. High boat for the week was again the "Gaviota VIII", skippered by Captain Juan Dominguez, with a total of 23 stripers for 6 days fished. Overall combined fish counts for a total of 53 days fished reflected 99 stripers, (86 releases) 1 Mako shark, 1 wahoo, 6 yellowfin tuna and 76 dorado. The dorado were mostly in the 15-25 lb. ranges with an occasional fish out to about 50 lbs.

Cabo Climate: A few clouds during the week but mostly sunny and warm with temps from 63 nights to 88 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Overall, excellent! Light surface winds, 8-10 knots, warm water from above the Golden Gate Bank around tto Red Hills, (just below Las Frailes) at 74-75 degrees and warming to 77 degrees at the thousand fathom curve.

Best Fishing Area: Billfish still at the Golden Gate Bank and dorado on both sides of the peninsula

Best Lure/Bait: Live mackerel still the best bait for the billfish with a few taken on artificials. Dorado taken on both, live bait and marlin lures.

Live Bait Supply: Remains very good with a mix of caballitos and mackerel and replenishment of the mackerel is still available at the Golden Gate Bank.
