According to Captain Temo Verboonen, the bite raced forward this week and the fish bit very well for all of the boats, reflecting good catches of marlin, dorado and sailfish. Temo reports the water clears up at about 10 miles and the good fishing begins from there on out. He reports the black and blue marlin, (mostly in he 200-250 lb. ranges) are taking slow trolled live mackerel and bonito, presented in the down riggers. The inshore action remains excellent for jack cravelle but still lacks the roosterfish. The jacks are taking megabite lures, rapalas and live bait and it's fairly easy limit type fishing. Occasionally, Temo reports, they are hooking bigger fish that they never see and they surmise it's bigger grouper, taking the lures/baits into the rocks and sawing the angler off. Overall, he says it's back to fun fishing for the anglers and the crews and everyone is coming in with smiles. Temo summed up his report with the following note: "Good weather, good fishing, calm ocean and cold beers".

IZ Climate: Superb, sunny & clear skies, temps from 72 nights to 90 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Light & gentle surface winds, sea temps from 79-80 inshore and rising to 82 offshore.

Best Fishing Area: Almost anywhere outside of 10 miles for the offshore fishing for the big game species and big schools of jack cravelle meandering all over the inshore areas from a half-mile to about 2 miles offshore.

Bait Supply: Excellent. Live bait is readily available. Huge schools of sardinas outside the Bay, both north and south, attracting the jack cravelle.
