Cacti

A final morning "picking cactus" provided welcome rail time in stunningly gorgeous conditions. Aside from a gentle rolling swell flat calm, glassy seas and a sunlit, hazy atmosphere thick with briny aromas were the perfect sendoff as this voyage concluded. Happy anglers filled the rail ever so pleased to make a few drops in quest of the beloved freezer fillers. Vermillion, chuckleheads, starry's, poinsettas, barber poles. lingcods, goats - the list goes on; all of these and more added up to a lively morning in perfect proportion. Already hosting a fantastic catch of fall classics in the hatch we didn't overdo it honoring limits foremost but ethics more importantly.

Cruising north in enduring calm the final gourmet tradition of prime rib with all the fixins' was served to a group of anglers richly rewarded. In the face of the most extreme fear mongering and media driven hysteria our country has ever lived with it is no small effort for anglers to make their planned long range voyages. I have expressed our unending gratitude to Royal Star anglers many times this season, and do so again today. Thank you to one and all. We understand the value of time away from the hustle and grind, and the tremendous, soul cleansing benefit of such adventures. It is not easy to prioritize one unknown over another. What I can assure every Royal Star angler is that we are committed to providing a safe, healthy enviroment on board our beloved vessel understanding that our most sacred responsibility and obligation is the safety of those in our charge.

In closing today our gratitude extended again to Charter Master and Co-Owner of Island Tackle Sam De La Torre for his support of Royal Star and fishing overall. As an ambassador of our passion and businesses a better man can not be found. Enjoy today's image of another high stakes moment in the world of long range fishing offshore.
