On March 26, GGFA President Michael Rescino attended the assumption of command ceremony for Vice Admiral Joe Buzzella  at Coast Guard Island.

During the ceremony, Vice Adm. Buzzella, Commander of Coast Guard Pacific Area and Defense Force West, delivered remarks as he officially assumed command. In this role, he will lead Coast Guard operations across the Indo-Pacific, the Polar Regions, and the Western Hemisphere, with a focus on enhancing operational readiness, strengthening international partnerships, and advancing strategic priorities in support of national security objectives.

President Rescino attended alongside Ken Franke, President of the Sportfishing Association of California.
