THE MAZATLAN FISHING REPORT FOR THE ARIES SPORTFISHING FLEET, (MARINA EL CID PACIFIC)


The billfish bite rebounded with an unusual showing of fish and a terrific bite for the anglers in the offshore waters and the inshore super pangas continued on with excellent fishing results for their anglers, too. The overall fish counts for 18 days in the offshore waters reflected a total of 20 stripers, (14 released) 7 sailfish, (6 released) and 1 dorado. The inshore super pangas fished 11 days and reflected 2 sailfish, limits of snapper, 111 triggerfish, 40 permit, 1 dorado and 3 bonito for their anglers. According to our local reporter at the Marina El Cid, Ms. Kitcia Ceja, it was a great fishing week that provided our anglers with very good fishing results for both, inshore and offshore fishing.


Mazatlan Climate: Air temps varied from 56 nights to 83 daytime highs and a 58% humidity level. It has been mostly sunny and warm days with a few passing clouds in the mix. Overall, it's excellent beach going weather.

Sea Conditions: Sea temps at 77 inshore and rising to 80-81 offshore. Sea breezes averaged about 13 mph with the westerly flow dominant this past week. Good clarity begins at about 14-16 miles offshore.

Best Fishing Area: Starting at about 15 miles or so offshore, out to the south of the Marina El Cid.

Best Bait or Lure: Rigged baits were working perfectly well for the stripers and the sailfish, albeit, a few stripers were also being taken on the artificials.

Bait Supply: Excellent for both, freshly provided baits for rigging or live bait at $1.00 per bait.
