Our report comes direct from Captain Temo Verboonen, our local reporter for Zihuatanejo, and reflects the past week's fishing was very good for marlin, sailfish and some big, dandy dorados. He reports the equatorial current has dissipated and the fish have re-entered the area and are being cooperative for the few anglers going out these days. Temo reports that the inshore fishing remains slow and apparently still has some off-colored green water. While the fishing remains very good there are very few anglers fishing the area right now but those that are are doing very well.
IZ Climate: Superb weather conditions with temps at 75 nights to 91 daytime highs and a 66% humidity ratio. Mostly sunny and warm days with a few passing clouds and terrific fishing weather conditions.
Sea Conditions: Sea temps are at 83 inshore and rising to 85 offshore. Surface breezes mostly from the westerly directions and ranging from very light to 10-12 mph and a minor westerly swell with all good fishing conditions.
Best Fishing Area: The better bite starts at about 14-15 miles out front of Zihuatanejo Bay, in the bristol blue and clean water.
Best Bait/Lure: Rigged baits working very well on all of the offshore fish, including the dorado.
Bait Supply: Excellent bait supply including live bait at $5.00 per dozen and fresh baits for rigging that are provided with the charters.
