Good fishing for the giant Atlantic barracudas, along with a mix of king mackerel, too. The best news for the week is the continued passing of the hurricanes without any of them focusing on the Puerto Morelos area. Other than the regular warm weather for the Puerto Morelos area, extending from Cancun to Cozumel, the weather has been very mild this season and appears to be in a pattern that will continue. Overall fish counts for 16 fished days reflected 39 giant barracuda, 15 king mackerel, 1 bonito, 2 triggerfish and 1 mutton snapper.

Puerto Morelos Climate: Mostly cloudy, ranging from 73 nights to 93 daytime highs, humid and an occasional thundershower.

Sea Conditions: Light tropical breezes from the north, 5-15 knots, small wind chop, sea temps at 85 degrees throughout the area.

Best Bait/Lure: The ballyhoo continues to lead as the preferred bait in this area.
