The sailfish counts have dropped off to about a 50% rate, with every
other boat having landed a billfish. Overall counts for 31 days
fished reflected 19 sailfish, 4 yellowfin tuna, 2 dorado and 1 mako
shark for the offshore waters. The inshore super pangas, reporting
for 7 days fished, reflected 1 roosterfish, 70 sierra, 35 pargo, 8
toro and rounded out the limit fish catches with mojarres and cochitos.
Mazatlan Climate: Partly cloudy but warm days, temps from 55 nights
to 83 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Temps at 78 inshore and rising to 79 offshore.
Greenish water inshore and fading to clearer waters at about 20 miles
out to the southwest of the Marina.
Best Fishing Area: Southwest of the Marina about 22-25 miles.
Best Bait/Lure: Rigged trolling baits best for the sailfish. The
four tuna were taken on lures in the rootbeer colors.
