Richard & Mary Castaneda from CASS TOURS visited the Riviera Maya and
fished aboard the "PESCADORA II", with Captain Gabby & Mate Danny
that resulted in an excellent fishing day, reflecting 8 king mackerel
to 20 lbs., 1 sierra, 2 smaller barracuda and 1 mutton snapper.
Following the fishing trip, they had the restaurant at the Puerto
Morelos Marina El Cid fix up one of the king mackerel for lunch that
Richard claims was fabulous food fare, cooked just perfectly in a
special garlic butter sauce. The overall catch report for a total of
6 fishing days reflected 1 sailfish, 19 king mackerel, 3 barracuda, 1
mutton snapper and 1 sierra.
PM Climate: Partly cloudy days with temps from 61 nights to 86
daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Pleasant water conditions with temps stable at 80
degrees and very light tropical surface breezes and no swell.
Best Bait/Lure: rigged and skirted ballyhoo were the "hot ticket"
